Asparagus and Teeth

Being an adult, I have never really appreciated nor liked asparagus. It has that consistency when cooked to look like broccoli, but the smell is so much stronger. When mashed it just makes me gag. With that said, my sweet Olivia has taken to the stuff. With each bite, she makes this mmmmm sound. I sit there and try not to gag. Juliana on the other hand has the same reaction I do. When I put a spoonful in her mouth, she looked at me with eyes that said...Mama, why? How can I make her eat something that I don't even like? So, she got sweet potatoes while Olivia got the asparagus.

Asparagus.

My girls are eating so much more! We go through three jars of food and two bowls of oatmeal a night. That is why I have chosen to get fresh produce as when it is made for the girls, it makes more jars of food. Baby food is so much more expensive when you have two babies. We are trying to introduce them to different items. So far we have tried: greenbeans, mixed vegetables, asparagus, black beans, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, oatmeal, applesauce, melon, bananas, and little lentils. We recently bought the little crackers that dissolve in their mouths. They don't get a lot of  them since they are processed. It took awhile for them to adjust to the cracker on the tongue. Olivia did some gagging, but now she has it down, trying to chew the cracker.

We are feeding more chunky foods as they are getting more teeth. Olivia and Juliana both have 4 teeth each. Juliana has two on top and two on the bottom. Olivia has three on the bottom and one on top. I often catch her touching the teeth together and try to give her something to chew on so she is not grinding her teeth. So far, God has been so merciful to us as the girls have not had very much teething issues. We have not had any fevers and not much crying. We are blessed.

So glad I can share this information with each one of you. We miss our friends and family and hope these little blessings reach your heart as they do ours.
