The theme of the party was "Where's the Cat?" It is a favorite book the girls love to read. They are even memorizing it. So, to go with our theme we had "Meow mix", Kit Kat bars, (Veggie) Chicken salad sandwiches and peanut butter sandwiches. Fruits and veggies and Strawberry Mice.
The decorations were balloons the colors in the book, black and pink streamers, a big cat balloon, a decoupage cat (Mama made), handmade scarves especially to match the book, and an easel with a special message to grab some ears and put on some whiskers.
The party started at 11:00AM to allow our little friends to enjoy a party before a cat nap. The girls welcomed guest as they arrived and shortly after everyone enjoyed the tasty food.
After we ate, it was time for games. The first game was "mouse hunt". The girls and their guest went out to the front yard and searched for colorful material mice. After collecting all 36 of them, we went inside for pin the tail on the cat. The game was drawn by Mama, inspired by the book. The kids took turns putting the tail on.

When we were done with the games we had birthday cake! Well, Mama made two cat cakes and then had cupcakes from a local cupcake shop "Cakes in a Cup" for everyone else.
Once we finished indulging in our sweet treats, we saw around the living room and listened to Mama read "Where's the Cat?" which lead into opening of presents.
Oh what fun we had on this special day. The girls are growing so fast and are talking more and more. We are so happy that we were able to spend the time with friends and family.
