Counting Down to 24 Months!

We are officially one month away from the big 2!!!! There is one thing I didn't expect until well into the two years, tantrums and defiance. Recently, the girls have chosen to be more independent. With this comes tantrums. If no one has experienced this, let me be the first to tell you. It is when your child, note: my TWO toddlers, throw themselves down on the floor in the middle of the store screaming because they want to walk when you insist that they ride in the stroller. When going to pick your child up, they buckle their legs and refuse to stand. So, while putting them back on the floor, so you don't pull their arms out of socket, they lay completely flat on the floor with their face against the dirtiness and cry. Oh, not to mention the very nice people, that stare you down for not picking your child up and taking care of them like a proper parent should. AHHHH!!!!!

 Olivia upset.

Independent Juliana.

Now for the example of defiance, Mama- "girls please put your books away, it is time for supper." Girls- "No" Mama- "girls, we are going to eat your favorite burgers, put your books away, now please." Girls- "No"  Mama walks over puts timeout seat on the floor and tells the girls to make a choice. Time out or seats. Girl one puts books away and climbs into seat. Girl two drops books, runs around house screaming and then sits herself in timeout. There is something wrong with this picture.

Juliana and Olivia love reading!

We have one month until our girls turn 2 and I am frantically trying to put their party together. We are focusing on cats as this is the girls favorite object right now. Juliana and Olivia both have really taken to certain things. 1) Cats. 2) Books 3) Music. I really love how they bounce to music or sing to Veggie tales. My favorite is when Daddy is home playing the piano and the girls sit in his lap, play the piano too and sing at the top of their lungs. Such sweet sounds. 4) Strange fascination with their new cow girl boots. It still amazes me that the girls will put on their boots and where them from sun up to sun down. They are real cow girl boots that we bought them from Nashville. I think they like the sound they make when walking on the hard wood floors. There is a downfall with those boots. They really hurt if you get kicked or stepped on. So when we go to Bible study the girls can't wear them, as I am afraid they will hurt some little kid unintentionally.

Musical Beauties

Just when I thought that we were getting back on routine and loving our little lives, Juliana and Olivia are yet growing again. They are wanting to be adventurous, and independent. My job now is to keep them safe. I really believe that it does get easier with twins, but our job description changes constantly as with any mom's.

Our monthly project, color Daddy a picture.

Life is not always hard either. For the people who tell me at Walmart and Kohls, I must have my hands full. I would like to say to them, life really isn't that bad. Everyone has their days. I love what I do. I love my girls. I do what I have to do to make things work. I ALWAYS put my children before myself but I have never regretted it one bit. Sure, I'm tired and need a break from time to time, but because of God leading in my life, I can lay my head on my pillow knowing that I have done my very best to raise my children. I won't ever be perfect parent, but I am blessed to have an opportunity to raise these amazing little girls.

Us girls!

I am looking forward to their birthday to wish my Juliana and my Olivia a happy 2 years. Oh what fun we are going to have. Daddy and I pray that our girls continue to grow and see that no matter how defiant and independent they want to become, we will always love them, we just hope it passes quickly.
